Welcome to our "Our Family" page!

You have probably become pretty familar with most of our saints, by seeing pictures and reading a

 little about each of them, here on our website.  ...and we thought you might want to learn a little

more about the people who love and care for them!  Then read on.... 

     We live on a 23 acre farm in rural South Dakota.  Here we raise our Saint Bernards, some sheep

and of course our daughter, Bethany and now Jacalyn who was born March of 08!  We also have 1 horse,

some cats, and our herd of 50 Suffolk/Hampshire ewes, which we lamb out every year, January through

March. 

     Mark is a full time trucker with V&S, and can usually be seen trasporting hogs, cattle or sheep.  If you

 see a bright yellow, 18 wheeler(in the SD, IA, NE, or MN area) give him a wave!  Mark is also skilled

in carpentry/construction and along with help from his twin brother, is kept very busy on weekends and evenings

with jobs that range from shingling, replacing and trimming windows or doors to building house additions.  All

improvments and additions we've made in our "dog barn"  over the years are complementary of Mark and his

brother.  They have spent many long hours there, making the dogs more comfy and things more efficient! 

     Marian has been a "stay at home" mom since Bethany was born and enjoys almost every moments of it!

She stays very busy with the farm chores, working and playing with the saints, occasionally filling in as a

teacher's aide at the school and just keeping up with Bethany  and now Jacalyn on a day to day basis.  Marian

enjoys some "amature" gardening, and all to infrequent horseback riding, as hobbies.

     Bethany is our little farm girl, and has never met a animal she doesn't love!  She keeps busy with her cats,

 mom's horse(which SHE claims) and the Saint Bernard puppies.  If she has to be in the house, she's

always willing to lend a hand to mom.  She loves to go see her "grandma and poppa"('s)  and frequently has

 nieces and nephews over to play with her and "her puppies"!  A update for Bethany...she got a pony!

  Her  poppa brought over the miniture pony that mom had trained to ride and drive when she was 13

years old.  Mom is just as thrilled as Bethany to finally have the pony here!  We spend lots of afternoons 

 together teaching Bethany  to ride, every day is a new adventure and it's so exciting to learn to 

trot but she found galloping is even better! 

     We have a new addition to our family as of March 2008!  Jacalyn Rae joined our family and a

wonderful addition she is!   Bethany spends lots of time reading to, playing with and as Jacalyn

 get older teaching her all the tricks of the trade! :)  Jacalyn is already a animal lover and learned to

crawl while trying to catch her kitten...she didn't even know that she was crawling, just got up and

took off after Grace(the kitten).  She spends time with Mom and Bethany out in the dog barn playing with

 the baby puppies and when we have the puppies in the house she's all to happy to share her snack with

them!
